After your Florida detox, these meditation apps can help you stay on the road to recovery
The number of smartphone apps dedicated to helping you start and stick with a meditation habit demonstrates the widespread popularity of meditation in today’s world. Sure, there was a time when society looked at meditation as some kind of “far out” mumbo jumbo. Now we know better. In fact, a number of scientific studies have produced clear evidence of the benefits of meditation.
At Spring Gardens Florida Recovery Center, we are proud to include Guided Meditation among our offering of innovative drug and alcohol addiction detox therapies. The journey to recovery isn’t an easy one, but there are things that can help you as you from the day you start your detox in Tampa with us through the weeks and months to come.
Not long ago, Psychology Today shared 20 Scientific Reasons to Start Meditating Today.

According to Tomas Laurinavicius, a lifestyle entrepreneur and blogger, “Meditation and mindfulness is a common habit among many successful people.” Among the famous names he cites in 10 Hot Mindfulness And Meditation Apps To Watch on the Forbes website are Kobe Bryant and Arianna Huffington.
Trixie, which offers both free and subscription serves for Android and iOS users, is one of Tomas’ picks. “Trixie is one of a few new generation meditation apps,” Tomas says. “It has a nice collection of guided meditations crafted by the mindfulness experts. On top of that, there is a virtual AI meditation assistant that analyzes your routine, mood and meditation patterns to find the most suitable guided meditation for any particular moment in your life.”
Aura also incorporates AI functionality and can be downloaded for free on both Android and iOS devices. Tomas likes this one because, “It provides personalized, short and science-backed mindfulness exercises. Also, it lets you track your mood patterns, reflect gratitude and listen to guided, as well as unguided sessions.”
Also available for free on Android and iOS is MindFi. In his write up, Tomas says, “MindFi is a perfect app for every aspiring meditator. Its practical and straightforward approach to meditation makes it easy to learn it everywhere: during deep work, on a daily commute or before a meal. MindFi app is a decent assistant that helps to form a habit that lasts.”
Two other free apps that both Android and iOS users can download that made Tomas’ list are ZenFriend and Mindbliss.
“If you’re looking for a simple and not overloaded meditation tool,” he says, “look no further than ZenFriend. It has nothing flashy, yet everything you need. Suitable for both advanced users and starters.”
Mindbliss on the other hand has lots to explore. In addition to both single sessions and a series of meditative journeys that spread out over a number of days, Tomas says Mindbliss offers, “A vast collection of guided meditations, sophisticated machine learning suggestions, advanced brain entrainment, visualization exercises, affirmations, transcendental meditations, and hypnotherapy.”
In reporting on The Best Meditation Apps to Help You Have a More Mindful Day …
Digitaltrends.com says, “Headspace is one of the oldest, and most well-known meditation apps available for iOS and Android.” The free version of Headspace includes a helpful series of meditations for beginners. If you’ve mastered the basics and want more, a paid subscription provides access to a large variety of meditations. And as DigitalTrends points out, “The company frequently offers promo codes and sales to make the app more affordable.”
There are many other apps. Some are only available for iOS users, some don’t offer a free version, but there’s bound to be one that’s right for you.
